Frankie Muniz's Journey Back to Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair
Frankie Muniz recently shared a story about how he almost missed his audition for the iconic role of Malcolm in the Middle because he was focused on landing a Pizza Hut commercial. Muniz, who was around 12 or 13 years old at the time, was torn between the audition and the commercial shoot scheduled for the same morning. Despite his initial doubts, Muniz decided to go through with the audition, delivering his lines with frustration and impatience, which ultimately helped him secure the role.
Reflecting on his performance, Muniz realized that his own personality closely mirrored that of Malcolm, the character he portrayed on the show. His wife, Paige, pointed out that he wasn't acting at all, highlighting the natural fit between Muniz and the role of Malcolm. Now, Muniz is gearing up to reprise his role in Hulu's four-episode revival of Malcolm in the Middle, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, which is set to premiere on April 10.
The revival series will bring back much of the original cast, including Bryan Cranston as Hal, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Christopher Kennedy Masterson as Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese, and Emy Coligado as Piama. Additionally, new cast members will join the show, including Keeley Karsten as Malcolm's daughter, Leah, and Kiana Madeira as his girlfriend, Tristan. The return of the beloved sitcom, known for its single-camera style, fourth-wall-breaking humor, and chaotic family dynamic, is highly anticipated by fans of the original series.
