French Box Office Update: March 2026 Admissions and April Anticipations

The French box office saw a decline in March 2026 with 12.89 million admissions, a 28% drop from February. However, there was a 1.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The total admissions for the first three months of 2026 reached 46.7 million, up 14.3% year-on-year.

Disney/Pixar's "Hoppers" and Pathe's "Marsupilami" were among the top films in March. "Hoppers" led the month with over 1.1 million tickets sold, while "Marsupilami" remained the highest-grossing film for the year so far with a total of 5.8 million admissions. Amazon MGM Studios' "Project Hail Mary" debuted at number one with 675,000 tickets in the first week.

French films also attracted audiences in March, with titles like "Family Price," "A Place For Her," and "Rays And Shadows" performing well at the box office. Hollywood blockbusters were not as prominent, with French titles driving ticket sales. Paramount's "Scream 7" and "Marty Supreme" contributed to overall admissions.

The Printemps du Cinema scheme in March offered tickets at a discounted price, boosting admissions by approximately two million. April holds promise with releases like Universal's "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" and Apollo Films' "Santiago: The Camino Therapy." Other anticipated releases include "The Drama," "Ooh La La 2," "The Desert Child," and "Just An Illusion."

With a mix of international and French films hitting theaters in April, the box office is expected to see a resurgence in audience attendance and ticket sales. The diverse lineup of films catering to different genres and audiences is set to draw crowds and keep the momentum going in the coming months.
