Rock Legends Reimagined: The Rolling Stones x Paly Capsule Collection
The Rolling Stones have collaborated with Los Angeles-based label Paly to create a limited-edition capsule collection that combines archive pieces with modern design. The collection, developed in partnership with Universal Music Group’s Bravado, features iconic motifs like the band’s tongue logo reimagined through Paly’s unique storytelling approach. The 10-piece capsule includes T-shirts, hoodies, and accessories, with prices ranging from $295 to $850. The collection debuted on palyhollywood.com and will be available exclusively at H. Lorenzo in L.A. before launching at Selfridges in Europe on April 27.
Paly designer Kyle Lindgren, in collaboration with actor and filmmaker James Franco, found inspiration in The Rolling Stones' rich history and their personal tastes. The partnership with The Rolling Stones and Bravado stemmed from an initial introduction through Selfridges, leading to the creation of this exclusive collection. Paly, founded during the pandemic, has quickly gained popularity through its unique approach to design and collaborations with cultural icons like Elvis Presley and James Dean.
Lindgren’s design process for The Rolling Stones capsule involved extensive research, archival exploration, and material experimentation. Drawing inspiration from vintage band T-shirts and Franco’s vast collection of drawings, the team focused on creating vintage finishes through custom dyeing, wash treatments, distressing, and print techniques. Each piece in the collection tells a story, with hand-drawn graphics and embellishments like rhinestones adding a unique touch to the designs.
The collaboration between The Rolling Stones and Paly showcases a blend of history, creativity, and craftsmanship, appealing to fans of both the band and fashion enthusiasts alike. The limited-edition collection offers a fresh perspective on the band’s iconic imagery, bringing a new narrative to their visual legacy. With a focus on storytelling and design, the capsule collection is a testament to the enduring influence of The Rolling Stones and their timeless appeal.
