Dave Portnoy's Fallout with Indiana Fever Star Caitlin Clark: A Friendship Turned Sour

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy had a friendly relationship with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, but things have taken a turn for the worse. Portnoy, a self-proclaimed big fan of the Fever, used to consider Clark one of his favorite athletes. However, their relationship has soured recently.
During a Barstool Live episode, Portnoy revealed that Clark blocked him on all platforms after an incident involving a phone call with a member of the McCaffery family. Clark is currently dating former Iowa Hawkeyes player Connor McCaffery, son of former Iowa men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery. Portnoy's comments about the Iowa basketball program, specifically under new head coach Ben McCollum, upset the McCaffery family, leading to the fallout.
Portnoy unknowingly spoke to Connor's brother on the phone, expressing his frustration about Portnoy's remarks regarding his father. This misunderstanding led to Clark blocking Portnoy across all communication channels, cutting off their previously planned meet-up during the Final Four in Indianapolis.
Portnoy blames Barstool Sports personality Rico Bosco for the rift, claiming that Bosco's involvement in the situation cost him his relationship with Clark. Despite Bosco's assurance to "work on it," Portnoy remains blocked by Clark, leaving him feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed.
