Journey's Final World Tour: Bandmates Schon and Cain Navigate Conflicts on Stage and Off

Journey's final world tour is currently in progress, despite ongoing conflicts between band members Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain. The disagreements stem from Cain's political affiliations, religious beliefs, and differing opinions on band management. Schon emphasized the band's original stance of not mixing politics or religion with their music.

The tension escalated when Cain performed "Don’t Stop Believin'" at Mar-a-Lago in 2022, which did not sit well with Schon. The bandmates, who co-own the Journey trademark, have also been embroiled in legal disputes over the band's corporate credit card and the appointment of a neutral director to mediate conflicts.

Despite the legal battles, Schon and Cain are currently on tour with lead singer Arnel Pineda, drummer Deen Castronovo, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, and bassist Todd Jensen. Schon expressed appreciation for the music they created together and the support of their fans, but acknowledged the challenges they face offstage.

Schon, who has been sober for 18 years, expressed frustration with the ongoing legal issues and the need for peace. He extended birthday wishes to Cain, expressing a desire to move past the legal battles and focus on the farewell tour. Cain, on the other hand, remains steadfast in his political beliefs and willingness to stand up for what he believes in.

Cain, a former Democrat who now identifies as a Republican, emphasized his focus on policies that impact his life and the country. He is married to televangelist Paula White-Cain and emphasized his independent voting approach based on policies rather than party affiliations. Despite the conflicts, both band members remain committed to their music and fans, even as they navigate personal and legal challenges.
