Security Alert: Gunfire Incident Near White House Under Investigation

The U.S. Secret Service is currently investigating reports of gunfire in the vicinity of the White House in the early hours of Sunday. Law enforcement officials were called to Lafayette Park shortly after midnight to investigate the incident. Despite conducting a thorough search of the park and surrounding areas, no suspect was found, and there were no reported injuries. The Secret Service is collaborating with the D.C. police and U.S. Park Police to identify a potential vehicle and person of interest in connection with the incident.
As a precautionary measure, security has been heightened around the White House, although operations are continuing as usual. Road closures are in effect for certain streets in the area, including H Street, NW (15th–17th), I Street, NW (15th–17th), and 16th Street, NW (K Street south to H Street). President Donald Trump was present at the White House during the incident, according to his schedule.
