Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has appointed Ford Coacher as Vice President, Taft Hartley, Chris Slezak as Vice President, Employer Stop Loss Sales, U.S. West, and Bill Bixler as Vice President, Employer Stop Loss Sales, U.S. East. These promotions aim to recognize the expertise of the professionals and support the growth of BHSI in the employer stop loss (ESL) marketplace, including the Taft Hartley sector.

Ford Coacher, who joined BHSI in 2024 as Assistant Vice President, will lead the expansion of BHSI’s Taft Hartley ESL business for self-funded multi-employer union health plans. Chris Slezak, with over two decades of industry experience, will oversee sales of BHSI’s ESL solutions for U.S. West, covering the Southwest, Northwest, and South Central regions. Bill Bixler, who has more than three decades of industry experience, will manage sales of BHSI’s ESL solutions for U.S. East, including the Midwest, Southeast, Eastern, and Midwest regions.

BHSI entered the ESL market in 2016 and continues to experience growth. With its top financial strength rating, experienced team, and self-reinsurance approach, BHSI offers a stable and long-term solution for distribution partners and policyholders. The company's commitment to the ESL business underscores its confidence in the market and its dedication to providing reliable insurance solutions for its clients.
