Actress Jenna Ortega, known for her roles in "Wednesday," "Scream," and "Beetlejuice 2," has reportedly been offered the lead role in the upcoming "Gremlins" film. The news comes from scooper DanielRPK, who revealed that Ortega is in talks for the role. As of now, no other actors have been confirmed for the project. Warner Bros. Pictures announced plans to bring back the dark comedy creature franchise with a third film, set to be released on November 19, 2027. The original film's writer, Chris Columbus, will produce and direct the movie, while Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, known for "Final Destination: Bloodlines," will handle the script. Steven Spielberg will return as an executive producer through his Amblin Entertainment label. The revival of the "Gremlins" franchise follows the success of the animated series "Secrets of the Mogwai," which premiered in 2023.
