BMW iX1 and iX2 Electric SUVs: New Prices, Features, and Updates in Australia

BMW has recently reduced the prices of its electric SUVs, the iX1 and iX2, in Australia. The iX1 now starts at $77,900, while the iX2 starts at $79,900. Additionally, there is a new variant of the iX1 available at a national drive-away price of $79,900. These price cuts make both models more affordable compared to their previous prices. The iX1 now comes with a 'Sport Collection' trim level, featuring 19-inch alloy wheels, white exterior paint, synthetic leather seats, heated front seats, and a head-up display. The iX1 and iX2 are now more competitively priced against their rivals in the segment, such as the Volvo EX40, Mercedes-Benz EQA, and Audi Q4 e-tron. Both BMW models are equipped with a dual electric motor setup, generating 230kW and 494Nm of torque, and feature an all-wheel drive system. The iX1 and iX2 have undergone hardware updates to enhance power density and battery range, with expected improvements in driving range over the previous models. The iX1 has been a top-selling EV for BMW, while the iX2 has also performed well in the market. The BMW X1 range, including the iX1, was awarded the CarsGuide Car of the Year 2026 in the small car sub-$80K category.
