Exploring Hawkwind's Psychedelic Selection: A Journey Through Unreleased Gems and Futuristic Transmissions

Hawkwind's latest release, Psychedelic Selection, is set to launch in June via Cherry Red Records. This unique album blurs the boundaries between studio recordings, archival finds, and futuristic transmissions. It includes the final recording featuring guitarist Huw Lloyd-Langton, a former member of Hawkwind who passed away in 2012. Lloyd-Langton's legacy with the band spans various phases, from their debut album in 1970 to intermittent collaborations until his health issues forced him to step back. The album showcases a reimagined version of Hurry Sundown, live-in-the-studio recordings of PSI Power and The Traveller Of Space, as well as two new compositions, Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad and There Are Fairies In The Garden. Additionally, tracks from associated projects like Dave Brock’s Dance And Trance material and Magnus Martin’s Ocean’s Spiral are also featured. This eclectic mix of previously unheard and rare recordings promises an intriguing listening experience for fans of Hawkwind. Psychedelic Selection will be available on June 12 in various formats, including double vinyl, CD, digital, and streaming platforms. Pre-orders are now open for this exciting release.
