Spotlight on Wendy Moten: Nashville Cats Interview Series at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will shine a spotlight on vocalist Wendy Moten in the Nashville Cats interview series, celebrating her extensive career as a backup singer for various artists. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, at 2:30 p.m. in the museum's Ford Theater. The interview, hosted by museum writer-editor Jon Freeman, will include rare photos, film, and recordings. Following the program, Moten will autograph commemorative Hatch Show Print posters. Nashville Cats is open to museum visitors with admission and free for museum members. Limited seating is available, and a program ticket is necessary for entry, which can be obtained through the museum's website.
Wendy Moten is the second artist to be recognized in the Nashville Cats series this year, following Jerry Douglas on March 7. The final program will feature John Jorgenson on Aug. 8. Moten began her professional singing career at the age of 16 and released her debut album, "Wendy Moten," with EMI in 1992. Her singles "Come in Out of the Rain" and "So Close to Love" achieved chart success in the US and UK. She has worked as a backup singer for Julio Iglesias, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, and has been a featured vocalist on Vince Gill's tours. Moten has also contributed her vocals to recordings by artists such as Garth Brooks, Buddy Guy, Thomas Rhett, Joss Stone, and Carrie Underwood. In 2021, she was the runner-up on NBC's The Voice.
