Chicago Theater Club: A Journey Through the City's Vibrant Theater Scene
Join us for an exciting new venture as we launch the Theater Club in collaboration with WBEZ/Chicago Sun-Times. Our first outing will be to see the play "White Rooster" at Lookingglass Theater on April 18. This event will include a group viewing of the play, a discussion with members of the artistic team, and an opportunity to socialize with fellow arts enthusiasts. Tickets for this event will be available for purchase starting on April 8 at noon through links in our social media bio on TikTok. WBEZ High Fidelity Members will receive a special invitation via email.
The idea for the Theater Club was born out of a desire to bring together individuals who may attend shows alone or are interested in exploring the vibrant theater scene in Chicago. By creating a community of like-minded individuals, we aim to make the experience of attending theater more enjoyable and accessible. Our upcoming series of events in April, May, and June will feature trips to three different theaters to see world premiere plays. In May, we will be attending the world premiere of "Windfall" at Steppenwolf, followed by a visit to A Red Orchid Theatre at the Chopin Theatre in June to see "The Targeted."
Chicago is renowned for its innovative and daring theater productions, making it the perfect backdrop for our Theater Club adventures. As we embark on this journey, we will have the opportunity to witness new American plays that are still evolving and shaping before our eyes. By being part of the early audience for these works, we not only support the arts but also contribute to the cultural dialogue surrounding these productions.
