Popeyes x One Piece Collaboration: Unveiling 'Luffy's Bento Box' and More!
Popeyes, a popular fast-food chain, is rumored to be launching a new collaboration with the anime series One Piece. Leaked images suggest that themed packaging tied to the anime will be part of the promotion. The leaked materials, allegedly posted by a Popeyes employee, feature a box branded as "Luffy's Bento Box" with Monkey D. Luffy. The promotion is expected to start on April 13 and run until May 10, offering a meal with two pieces of chicken, mac and cheese, and a side. A larger bundle with a fruit-flavored lemonade and a dessert themed around Tony Tony Chopper is also reportedly in the works.
This collaboration comes at a challenging time for Popeyes, as one of its major franchisees, Miami-based Sailormen Inc., recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Sailormen operated over 130 Popeyes restaurants in Florida and Georgia, but due to rising costs and declining traffic, they had to close about 20 locations. The bankruptcy filing revealed that Sailormen was carrying a significant amount of debt, citing inflation, higher borrowing costs, weaker customer traffic, and financial repercussions from the COVID-19 pandemic as contributing factors. Despite these challenges, Popeyes' parent company, Restaurant Brands International, has stated that the majority of Popeyes restaurants are profitable and that the brand is still growing.
With over 4,000 locations worldwide, Popeyes is known for its flavorful chicken offerings. The upcoming collaboration with One Piece is an exciting development for fans of the anime and fast-food enthusiasts alike. Stay tuned for the launch of "Luffy's Bento Box" at Popeyes locations starting in April.
