USC Trojans Target Top Tight End Recruit Rahzario Edwards for Official Visit
Grant Union (Calif.) four-star tight end recruit Rahzario Edwards has scheduled an official visit with the USC Trojans for June 12-14, as he revealed on social media. Edwards is highly ranked, being the No. 114 overall prospect, No. 6 tight end, and No. 10 player in California according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. ESPN also ranks him as the No. 66 overall prospect and the No. 3 tight end in the 2027 recruiting class.
USC has already secured commitments from Corona Centennial (Calif.) four-star Quentin Hale and Chaparral (Calif.) four-star Eli Woodard at the receiver position. They are now focusing on the tight end position and are looking to add only one recruit. San Mateo (Calif.) Serra three-star tight end Jace Cannon, who recently narrowed his list to five schools, including USC, is a target for the Trojans.
Edwards' official visit to USC indicates the Trojans' strong interest in him. The team's inside receivers and tight end coach, Chad Savage, has been actively recruiting Edwards. USC has a history of success in recruiting top tight ends, having landed five-star tight end Mark Bowman and Josiah Jefferson, the No. 1 JUCO tight end, in the previous cycle.
While Edwards has official visits lined up with other schools like Cal and Syracuse, USC remains a top contender for his commitment. The Trojans are focused on securing top talent from their home state, including prospects like Edwards and Cannon, who are both from California.
USC has been successful in recruiting top talent, with commitments from highly rated players like IMG Academy (Fla.) four-star cornerback Aaryn “J.O.” Washington and Santa Margarita (Calif.) three-star Isaia Vandermade. The Trojans have had a strong recruiting period, particularly in Southern California, with notable additions like San Diego (Calif.) Cathedral Catholic five-star Honor Fa’alave-Johnson and Mater Dei (Calif.) four-star cornerback Danny Lang. USC's recruiting success positions them well for the upcoming season.
