Exciting Events in Las Vegas: Renaming Ceremony, Concerts, and Community Initiatives
Good Morning Las Vegas! It's Friday, and there are exciting events taking place in the valley today. If you're near the Strip and Toshiba Plaza, be sure to catch a parade and witness a street renaming ceremony. Meanwhile, in North Las Vegas, the Craig Ranch Amphitheater has reopened after undergoing significant renovations. Let's take a look at today's weather forecast to help you plan your day and weekend activities. Guy Tannenbaum has all the details.
The Craig Ranch Amphitheater in North Las Vegas has recently completed extensive upgrades, including a new roof, lighting, and sound systems. With a capacity for up to 10,000 visitors, the venue is now equipped to host national touring acts. To celebrate its grand reopening, a free '80s themed concert will kick off at 6 p.m., welcoming the community back to this popular outdoor venue.
Las Vegas is gearing up to honor Bruno Mars as Park Avenue will be renamed Bruno Mars Drive ahead of his world tour kickoff at Allegiant Stadium. The festivities will begin with a free parade on the Las Vegas Strip, starting at the north side of the Bellagio on Las Vegas Boulevard and concluding at Toshiba Plaza. Governor Joe Lombardo and other Southern Nevada leaders will lead a ceremony for the street renaming, accompanied by a donation from Bruno Mars to a local nonprofit.
Redevelopment is underway at Marble Manor, a historic housing complex in the Westside area of Las Vegas. The project, divided into five phases, will result in over 600 low-income and market-rate housing units, triple the previous capacity. The revitalized complex will also feature a community center, parks, retail spaces, and more. The first 138 homes are expected to be completed next year, with the entire project scheduled for completion by 2032.
East Valley Family Services is hosting its Golden Groceries event to support seniors in the community. Starting at 7:30 a.m. at their office on East Park Lane, the program offers fresh fruits, vegetables, and bread to seniors free of charge. Participants must be at least 60 years old and present a valid ID or Oasis card from Three Square Food Bank to receive food assistance.
In conclusion, today's events in Las Vegas offer a mix of entertainment, community development, and support for seniors. Whether you're attending a concert at the newly renovated amphitheater, joining the celebration of Bruno Mars Drive, or participating in the Golden Groceries event, there's something for everyone to enjoy in the valley. Have a fantastic day and weekend ahead!
