Man Arrested in Ohio After Abducting Missing Juvenile from North Carolina

A man in Hocking County, Ohio, was arrested after a single-vehicle crash led deputies to discover a missing juvenile passenger. The incident occurred on U.S. Route 33, where Virgil E. Larson Jr., 45, was found with a 12-year-old girl who had been reported missing from North Carolina. Larson allegedly used social media to lure the victim and convinced her to leave with him under false pretenses. He was arrested and is facing serious felony charges for his actions. Larson does not have a valid driver's license and had his father transport the juvenile, claiming to take her to a safe location. Both Larson and the girl were taken to hospitals for evaluation before Larson was booked into the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail. The case is still under investigation, with cooperation from authorities in North Carolina and the FBI. More information may be released as the investigation progresses.
