Minnesota Twins Infielder Royce Lewis Placed on Injured List with Sprained Knee; Cody Laweryson Out with Forearm Strain

Minnesota Twins infielder Royce Lewis has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a sprained left knee, as confirmed by manager Derek Shelton following a recent game against Toronto. Additionally, right-hander Cody Laweryson will be sidelined for 15 days due to a right forearm strain. The Twins are set to announce corresponding roster moves ahead of their upcoming matchup with the Blue Jays. Lewis, who has a batting average of .222 with two home runs and eight RBI, sustained the knee injury during a swing in a previous game against Detroit. Despite initially staying in the game, he was unable to play in the following game. The former first overall pick in the 2017 draft has faced multiple injury setbacks throughout his career, including tearing the ACL in his right knee in both 2021 and 2022.
