Meet Miles Rubin: Tennessee Basketball's Defensive Anchor

Tennessee basketball secured a commitment from Miles Rubin, a center from Loyola (Chicago), after his official visit with the Vols. Rubin, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound player, chose Tennessee over schools like Clemson, Syracuse, and Marquette. With one year of eligibility left, Rubin brings strong defensive skills, averaging 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 2.3 assists per game in his junior season.
Known for his shot-blocking ability, Rubin ranked 12th nationally in blocked shots last season. He also posted impressive rebound rates and defensive stats during his time at Loyola. While his offensive game is limited, shooting just over 58% from the field, Rubin's defensive prowess and rim protection make him a valuable addition to Tennessee's roster.
Rubin's transfer to Tennessee addresses the team's need for frontcourt help after losing key players to graduation and the transfer portal. With only one returning frontcourt player from the previous season, the addition of Rubin, along with other transfers like Tyler Lundblade and Dai Dai Ames, bolsters Tennessee's lineup for the upcoming season. The Vols now have five scholarships available to further strengthen their roster.
