Among the standout pieces is Keith Richards' 2005 semi-hollow Duesenberg Starplayer Outlaw electric guitar, adorned with a distinctive mosaic-like custom pearl finish. This guitar, gifted by Richards to McLagan, boasts chrome skull knobs, adding to its rebellious aesthetic. Additionally, McLagan's modified 1965 Telecaster, featuring a Strat neck and a custom-painted psychedelic pickguard, holds historical significance. Originally purchased for a Small Faces performance, it was later utilized by Steve Marriott for recording iconic tracks like Tin Soldier and All or Nothing.
Originally painted in Cream, the Telecaster underwent a transformation in 1969, revealing a natural finish. Notably, Peter Frampton modified the guitar by hand-carving a neck pickup hole to accommodate a Gibson humbucker salvaged from Pete Townshend's destroyed SG. This unique history has earned the instrument the title of "a singular piece of rock and roll history."
