Nexstar Media Group is set to host a California gubernatorial candidate debate next week, airing on the company's TV stations in the state. Titled "Debate Night in California: The Race for Governor," the event will take place on April 22 at 7 p.m. Pacific time. The debate will be broadcast from KRON in San Francisco and shown on KTLA in Los Angeles, KSWB in San Diego, KTXL in Sacramento, KGET in Bakersfield, and KSEE in Fresno. Moderators for the debate will be Nikki Laurenzo from KTXL and Frank Buckley from KTLA.

Candidates participating in the debate have met the requirement of at least 5% support in Nexstar's March statewide poll. The confirmed candidates include Sheriff Chad Bianco, former Fox News host Steve Hilton, former U.S. House member Katie Porter, and philanthropist Tom Steyer. The debate will also be available nationally on Nexstar's NewsNation cable news outlet and live-streamed on The Hill's political website. Leading up to the event, anchors Chris Cuomo and Leland Vittert will provide coverage, with Katie Pavlich hosting post-debate analysis.

CNN has also announced a gubernatorial debate in Los Angeles on May 5, which will be moderated by Elex Michaelson and Kaitlan Collins. The debate will air on CNN and its subscription streaming platform. The upcoming debates offer voters the opportunity to hear from the candidates and make informed decisions ahead of the election.
