Kangdrun's film "Linka Linka" was honored with the Firebird Award for the Young Cinema Competition (Chinese Language) and the Fipresci Prize at the 50th Hong Kong International Film Festival. The film was praised for its portrayal of youth and Tibetan culture, with a narrative structure that reflects on memory. Other Chinese-language awards went to Tan Si You for best director in "Amoeba," Yu An-Shun for best actor in "A Dance with Rainbows," and Ong Xuan Jing for best actress in "Ah Girl."

In the Young Cinema Competition (World) category, Markus Schleinzer's "Rose" won the Firebird Award for its haunting beauty. Andrius Blaževičius was recognized as best director for "How to Divorce During the War," while Edik Beddoes and Sabine Thalau won best actor and actress, respectively, for their roles in "Blue Heron" and "I Understand Your Displeasure."

The documentary competition Firebird was awarded to "Past Future Continuous" for its portrayal of exiled individuals, while "The Ground Beneath Our Feet" received the documentary jury prize for its depiction of life in Iceland's oldest retirement home.
