Chesney's Great Escape: A Community's Search for a Runaway Kangaroo

In a small Wisconsin town, a kangaroo named Chesney escaped from Sunshine Farm, sparking a community-wide search effort. Chesney's keeper, Debbie Marland, led the search, covering 37,000 steps per day to find the missing marsupial. The Juneau County Sheriff's Office even issued a bulletin, urging residents to be on the lookout for the runaway kangaroo.

The search for Chesney involved heat-seeking drones and volunteers combing through the area where he was last seen. Colton Johnson, owner of Midwest Aerial Drone Services, used his expertise to track Chesney's movements through the Wisconsin woods. Despite getting close to Chesney on two occasions, the kangaroo managed to evade capture, showcasing his speed and agility.

After days of searching, Chesney was finally found resting beneath a tree. With the help of familiar scents and comforting voices, volunteers were able to coax Chesney back home. The kangaroo, weighing 40 pounds, was safely returned to Sunshine Farm, where he was reunited with his companion, Kenny. Chesney, named after country-music star Kenny Chesney, is one of 25 animals residing at the farm.

The heartwarming story of Chesney's escape and eventual return highlights the strong sense of community in the Wisconsin town. The efforts of volunteers, drone operators, and farm staff demonstrate the power of coming together to help a furry friend in need. Chesney's safe return home is a testament to the care and dedication of those involved in the search.
