Phil Collins and Diverse Artists to be Inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026

Phil Collins has achieved a significant milestone in his career as he is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. The announcement of the inductees for the Class of 2026 was made during a live broadcast on American Idol. Phil, who is already a member of Genesis in the Hall of Fame, has garnered multiple prestigious awards throughout his solo career, including Grammys, an Oscar, and two Golden Globe Awards. This honor will make him a two-time inductee alongside his former bandmate Peter Gabriel.

Joining Phil Collins in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026 are a diverse group of artists, including Billy Idol, Oasis, Luther Vandross, Sade, Iron Maiden, Wu-Tang Clan, Joy Division, and New Order. Notably, Joy Division and New Order are being inducted together due to the formation of New Order after the tragic death of Joy Division's lead singer Ian Curtis in 1980. Despite being on the ballot, artists like Mariah Carey, Pink, and INXS did not make the cut this year.

Additionally, the Early Influence Award recipients include Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Fela Kuti, Celia Cruz, and Gram Parsons for their groundbreaking contributions to music. The Musical Excellence Award will be presented to producers Rick Rubin, Arif Mardin, Linda Creed, and Jimmy Miller. The Ahmet Ertegun Award will honor the late Ed Sullivan for his significant impact on the music industry.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 in Los Angeles, with the event set to be broadcast on Disney+ and ABC in December. This recognition celebrates the enduring legacy of these influential artists and their contributions to the world of music.
