Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Inductees: Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Sade, and More!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its eight new inductees for this year. The list includes Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Oasis, Sade, Joy Division/New Order, Wu-Tang Clan, and Luther Vandross. These artists were chosen by a panel of over 1,200 industry professionals and musicians based on their impact and influence in the music industry.
Phil Collins, already a member of the Hall of Fame with Genesis, is being recognized for his successful solo career. Sade, known for her soulful voice, has been nominated before and is now being inducted. Wu-Tang Clan, pioneers in hip-hop, are also part of this year's inductees. Iron Maiden, known for their heavy metal sound, are being honored for their contributions to the genre.
Luther Vandross, who passed away in 2005, is known for his soulful ballads and has sold millions of records. Joy Division and New Order, British post-punk bands, are entering the Hall of Fame as one entity. Oasis, the Gallagher brothers' band, and Billy Idol, known for his punk rock hits, are also part of this year's inductees.
In addition to the performers, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will also honor individuals in three special committee categories: Early influence, musical excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award. This year's ceremony will take place in November in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on ABC and Disney+ in December.
