Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Inductees: Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Wu-Tang Clan, and More!

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its latest inductees, including Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Queen Latifah, Oasis, Sade, and Joy Division/New Order. Wu-Tang Clan and Luther Vandross are also among the honorees. These artists were chosen by a panel of over 1,200 industry professionals and musicians. The induction ceremony will take place on November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with a televised broadcast scheduled for December on ABC and Disney+.
Phil Collins, known for hits like "In the Air Tonight," is being recognized for his solo work, while Sade's smooth jazz vocals and Wu-Tang Clan's rap innovations are also being celebrated. Iron Maiden's contribution to British heavy metal, Vandross's soulful ballads, and the post-punk sounds of Joy Division and New Order are all being honored. Oasis, Billy Idol, and Queen Latifah are also part of this year's diverse lineup.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will also pay tribute to influential figures like Queen Latifah, Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, MC Lyte, and Gram Parsons with the early influence award. Songwriter Linda Creed and producers Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, and Rick Rubin will receive the musical excellence award. Additionally, the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award will be presented to the late Ed Sullivan for his groundbreaking contributions to music and television.
While artists like Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, and INXS were nominated but not inducted this year, the ceremony promises to be a memorable event celebrating the diverse talents and contributions of these iconic musicians. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame continues to honor the legacy of music legends and their lasting impact on the industry.
