Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Inductees: Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Wu-Tang Clan, and More!

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its latest inductees, including Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Queen Latifah, Oasis, Sade, Joy Division/New Order, Wu-Tang Clan, and Luther Vandross. These artists were selected by a panel of over 1,200 industry professionals and musicians. Phil Collins, known for hits like "In the Air Tonight," is being honored for his solo work, while Sade's soul-jazz music has earned her a spot in the hall. Wu-Tang Clan, pioneers in rap music, are also among the inductees. Iron Maiden, Luther Vandross, Joy Division/New Order, and Oasis are recognized for their contributions to rock music. The induction ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on November 14 and will be televised in December on ABC and Disney+. The following year, the ceremony will return to Cleveland. Other nominees who did not make the cut this year include Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, INXS, Melissa Etheridge, Jeff Buckley, Pink, New Edition, and Shakira. In addition to the performer category, the hall also recognizes inductees in special committee categories such as early influence, musical excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award. This year's honorees in these categories include Queen Latifah, Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, MC Lyte, Gram Parsons, Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, Rick Rubin, and Ed Sullivan. Sullivan, known for his iconic TV show that featured many musical legends, will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award. Last year's inductees included Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Soundgarden, Joe Cocker, Salt-N-Pepa, The White Stripes, Carol Kaye, Nicky Hopkins, Lenny Waronker, Thom Bell, and Warren Zevon.
