Janus Films has secured the exclusive U.S. distribution rights for The Samurai And The Prisoner, the upcoming film by renowned Japanese director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, which is set to premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Based on Honobu Yonezawa's novel, the movie was produced by Shochiku in collaboration with Tokyo Broadcasting System Television.
