Monitor": Searchlight Pictures Secures US Rights for Chilling Horror Film

Searchlight Pictures has secured the US rights to the horror film "Monitor," the debut feature from Matt Black and Ryan Polly. The movie premiered at SXSW and features a talented cast including Brittany O’Grady, Viveik Karla, Ines Høysæter Asserson, Gunner Willis, Sara Alexander, and Camila Bejarano Wahlgren. The producers of the film are Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner, John Fischer, and Adrian Guerra, with executive producers including Nuria Valls, Hal Sadoff, Ben Levine, Dave Bishop, and George Hamilton. Searchlight Pictures will handle distribution in the UK and S.E. Asia.
"Monitor" follows a chilling storyline where a disturbing video spreads from screen to screen, targeting anyone who watches it with no escape or warning. The film taps into the fear of the unknown lurking just beyond our screens, promising an intense and thrilling experience for audiences. Searchlight Pictures President Matthew Greenfield expressed excitement about bringing this modern thriller to viewers.
The release plans for "Monitor" in 2027 will be revealed at a later date. The deal was negotiated by Chan Phung, Head of Acquisitions, and Ben Wilkinson, VP of Business Affairs, on behalf of Searchlight Pictures, in collaboration with Temple Hill Entertainment and UTA Independent Film Group. Protagonist Pictures handled international sales for the film.
