A suspect was apprehended by Hartford police on Thursday morning at the Aetna Headquarters building for carrying a firearm in a backpack. The police responded to a call about a suspicious male at the Aetna location on Farmington Ave. The suspect was detained by Aetna security after entering the building with an AR-style pistol in his backpack. The suspect is now in police custody and is facing formal charges. The Hartford Police Major Crimes Scene and Intelligence Divisions are leading the investigation.
