Remembering Aaron Carter: A Campaign for a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Aaron Carter's mother, Jane Carter Schneck, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in honor of her late son. The goal is to collect $85,000 to cover the costs of creating, installing, and maintaining the star. Both of Aaron's brothers, Nick Carter and Angel Carter, are supportive of this endeavor. The campaign aims to celebrate Aaron Carter's legacy and the impact he had on his fans and supporters.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame selection process is overseen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which nominates 24 to 30 individuals each year for inclusion on the Walk of Fame. Criteria for selection include professional achievements, longevity in the industry for at least five years, contributions to the community, and the commitment to attend the dedication ceremony if chosen. Posthumous awards require a waiting period of two years after the individual's passing.

Jane Carter Schneck intends to submit Aaron Carter's nomination application by the May 15 deadline for this year's selections. The application process involves a fee of $275. As of the latest update, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $186 towards the goal of honoring Aaron Carter with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Aaron Carter's untimely death in 2022 was attributed to a drug-related drowning incident. The autopsy report revealed that he had become incapacitated in the bathtub due to inhaling compressed gas and taking alprazolam (Xanax), leading to his submersion in water and subsequent death. Carter's musical career began at a young age, releasing his self-titled solo album at nine years old and achieving global fame as an opening act for his brother Nick's Backstreet Boys.

With his platinum-selling album "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" in the 2000s, Aaron Carter solidified his place in the music industry with hits like "I Want Candy" and the title track. Additionally, he ventured into acting, appearing on popular TV shows like "Lizzie McGuire" and "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch." The campaign to secure a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame aims to honor Aaron Carter's contributions to music and entertainment, ensuring that his legacy continues to be celebrated by fans and supporters.
