Remembering Alexander Manninger: A Tribute to the Former Arsenal Goalkeeper

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Alexander Manninger tragically passed away at the age of 48 in a car accident involving a train. The incident occurred at an unguarded level crossing on the Salzburg local railway in Nussdorf am Haunsberg. Manninger was the first Austrian player to join Arsenal and achieved success with the Gunners, winning the Premier League title and the FA Cup in the 1997-98 season. Following his time at Arsenal, Manninger played for various clubs including Torino, RB Salzburg, Udinese, and Juventus before returning to the Premier League. After training with Liverpool in 2016, Manninger sought a new club to continue his career. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
