VisitEngland Awards for Excellence: Celebrating the Best in English Tourism
The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence have been recognizing outstanding achievements in England's tourism industry for over 35 years, highlighting excellence in accessibility, accommodation, attractions, experiences, food and drink, and business events. The Beatles Story, located at the Royal Albert Dock, recently won the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year and the International Tourism Award at the Liverpool Tourism Awards. Established in 1990, this museum is the largest of its kind, immersing millions of visitors in The Beatles' story through recreated sets and historic artifacts. The attraction is now a finalist in the International Tourism Award category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, aiming to repeat its Gold success from last year.
The 53 finalists, chosen by tourism industry experts, will compete in 16 core categories at the upcoming awards ceremony. Additionally, special awards like the 'Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award', the 'Travel Content Award', and the 'Tourism Superstar Award' will be presented. The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence collaborated with 21 local competitions across England, with 369 winners automatically nominated for national recognition.
Tourism is a vital industry in England, supporting numerous small-to-medium sized businesses, over two million jobs, and contributing £127 billion to the economy. The chosen charity for this year's event is the Family Holiday Charity.
