A caregiver who mistreated children under her care has been spared jail time, while her son, who sexually assaulted and raped girls, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. Jennifer Robertson, 79, received a community payback order at the High Court in Edinburgh. The abuse occurred between 1980 and 1995, with children as young as 10 months old being subjected to physical assaults, verbal abuse, and forced feeding. Both mother and son were found guilty in court last month.
