The Vancouver Canucks have made the decision to part ways with General Manager Patrik Allvin. Allvin, who became the first Swedish GM in NHL history on January 26, 2022, oversaw the team for 368 regular-season games, resulting in a record of 173-150-45. The Canucks only made one playoff appearance during Allvin's tenure in 2024, and this season ended with the team finishing at the bottom of the league standings, giving them the best odds for the first overall draft pick. The Canucks also made headlines by trading away captain Quinn Hughes.
