Meet Mason Blackwood: Penn State Forward Transfers to St. Bonaventure

Mason Blackwood, a forward who previously played for Penn State, has decided to transfer to St. Bonaventure, a move that brings him closer to his hometown of Rochester, New York. The 6-foot-7, 230-pound player, who was a 4-star recruit in the 2025 class, caught the attention of the Bonnies' management team led by Adrian Wojnarowski. During his freshman year at Penn State, Blackwood showed promise with notable performances, including a game against Wisconsin where he scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds. He also earned his first career start in a Big Ten Tournament game against Northwestern, receiving praise from coach Mike Rhoades for his work ethic and competitiveness. Blackwood averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in nearly 12 minutes per game over 26 appearances last season. With three years of eligibility left, Blackwood looks forward to continuing his basketball career at St. Bonaventure.
