Van Halen Releases Remastered 'Live Without A Net' Performance from '5150' Album Anniversary
Van Halen has released a remastered HD version of their iconic performance from "Live Without A Net" on their official YouTube channel. This performance is part of the expanded edition of their album "5150," which celebrates its 40th anniversary. The album was remastered from the original master tapes by the band's engineer, Donn Landee.
"5150" marked a new chapter for Van Halen as it was the first album with Sammy Hagar as the lead vocalist, alongside Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and Michael Anthony. The album included hits like "Why Can't This Be Love," "Dreams," and "Best Of Both Worlds." Recorded at Eddie's 5150 Studios in California, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went on to become one of the band's best-selling albums.
The expanded edition of "5150" includes over 90 minutes of previously unreleased live recordings from a concert in 1986 at the New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Connecticut. The Blu-ray version also features a high-definition version of "Live Without a Net" and promotional videos for "Dreams" and "Why Can't This Be Love." Fans can also get the remastered album and rarities in a 2-CD box set or double LP on black or green vinyl.
Van Halen's "5150 (Expanded Edition)" offers fans a chance to experience the band's electrifying performance and iconic hits in a new and enhanced format. Don't miss out on this opportunity to relive the magic of Van Halen's music from their legendary "5150" era.
