Prince's Legacy Lives On: Unveiling 'With This Tear' and Celebrating 10 Years

Prince's legacy continues to thrive as new music emerges from his vault nearly a decade after his passing. The latest release, "With This Tear," is a previously unreleased studio recording from November 1991. Written, produced, and performed solely by Prince at Paisley Park, the track has been remixed and remastered by Chris James, offering a glimpse into the artist's creative process in the early '90s. The stripped-down arrangement features a piano-led melody with subtle synth textures and orchestration, showcasing a more intimate side of Prince's music.

Originally passed to Céline Dion, who released her version in 1992, "With This Tear" captures Prince's unfiltered and self-contained approach to music. The accompanying video combines archival photos and performance footage from Prince's life and career, enhancing the emotional depth of the song. This release marks the beginning of a series of unreleased recordings leading up to a new Prince album project expected later this year.

As the 10th anniversary of Prince's passing approaches on April 21, Paisley Park will host the annual A Day 2 Reflect | A Night 2 Remember event, featuring public tours, fan gatherings, and a candle-lighting ceremony. The Prince Celebration: 10th Anniversary Celebration of Life in June will bring together members of Prince's core bands, including the New Power Generation and the Revolution, for a series of performances and events across Minneapolis. Artists like Chaka Khan, Morris Day, and Miguel are set to participate, with a focus on key albums from Prince's discography and fan events at iconic venues like First Avenue.
