UC Bearcats Basketball Roster Update: New Recruits and Transfer Portal Activity

The Cincinnati Bearcats have been active in the NCAA college basketball transfer portal, with 11 players leaving and six new players joining the team. The roster for the 2025-26 season currently has no players listed. Players have until April 21 to enter the transfer portal, and negotiations can take some time.

Baba Miller, Day Day Thomas, and Jalen Celestine are no longer eligible to play for the Bearcats. However, there is a possibility that Miller may return for a fifth year of eligibility and has also declared for the NBA Draft. The recruitment process for Miller is still ongoing, and UC could potentially bring him back at a cost.

Jerrod Calhoun secured commitments from two new players, starting with Iweze, who redshirted at Utah State last season. Iweze, a center, had impressive stats in high school and was ranked as the 35th-best center overall by 247Sports. Colvin, another recruit, previously played for Wake Forest and Purdue, bringing experience to the team.

Tejada, the 2025 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year, committed to UC after a successful career at Towson. Allenspach, who played for George Mason in the Atlantic 10, also joined the Bearcats. Mahaffey, a standout player from Moeller High School and Akron, committed to UC as well. Elamin, a teammate of Iweze at Utah State, is also set to join the Bearcats.

Negotiations with other potential recruits were ongoing as of April 18-19, with visits and evaluations taking place. Jordi Rodriguez was the latest player to announce his intentions on April 17. The Bearcats are actively building their roster for the upcoming season, aiming to strengthen their team with new talent.
