Classic Hits and Summer Festivals: Hootie & the Blowfish's Busy Season Ahead

Hootie & the Blowfish are gearing up for a busy summer with performances at Stagecoach and several major festivals. Singer Darius Rucker shared that the band is in a fortunate position where they can sell out shows without releasing new music. He emphasized that their fans want to hear their classic hits like "Hold My Hand" and "Only Wanna Be With You" rather than new material. Despite not releasing new music, the band recently topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart with the song "Bottle Rockets" featuring an interpolation of "Hold My Hand."
Hootie & the Blowfish will be making appearances at the Bourbon & Beyond, Oceans Calling, and Windy City Smokeout festivals. Additionally, Darius Rucker will kick off his solo tour, Songs of Summer, on June 4. The band's success and enduring popularity allow them to focus on performing for their dedicated fan base without the pressure of constantly churning out new hits.
