Curry Barker to Direct A24's Reboot of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Filmmaker Curry Barker has landed a major directing role for A24's upcoming reboot of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." The project is described as a fresh take on the 1974 horror classic, with Barker's specific vision for the iconic character Leatherface and his victims being kept secret. Barker's career has seen a rapid rise, from his debut feature on YouTube to his acclaimed festival film "Obsession," which garnered a significant sale at the Toronto International Film Festival. He is currently working on the film "Anything But Ghosts" at Blumhouse and is part of the comedy duo That's a Bad Idea. The new "Chainsaw" film will be produced by Spooky Pictures and Exurbia Films, with A24 securing the rights in a competitive auction last year.
