Celebrating Rachel Reid: A Trailblazer in Romance and Representation
Rachel Reid, the acclaimed author of the Heated Rivalry book series, is set to be recognized at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Canada gala and summit on May 28. She will be presented with the Changemaker Award at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto and will also participate in an on-stage interview. Known for her work in the romance genre, Reid's Heated Rivalry series has been adapted into a popular drama about gay hockey players on Crave and HBO Max. The event organizers praised Reid for championing new perspectives and elevating underrepresented voices in the entertainment industry.
Reid's upcoming honor is particularly fitting as Heated Rivalry is part of her Game Changer series, which focuses on the passionate relationship between Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. The characters are portrayed in the drama by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, respectively. Fans can look forward to the release of Heated Rivalry season two next year, as well as Reid's seventh book in the Game Changers series, titled Unrivaled, in June 2027. The WIE Canada summit aims to bring together women in the Canadian entertainment industry to celebrate their achievements and contributions.
