Clint Black: The Hard Way On Purpose - A Journey Through Country Music History

The Country Music Hall of FameĀ® and Museum has unveiled its latest exhibition, "Clint Black: The Hard Way On Purpose," showcasing the journey of Clint Black from a working-class musician to a chart-topping artist. The exhibit, open until August 2027, features Black's stage wear, instruments, memorabilia, manuscripts, and more, offering a glimpse into his remarkable career.

Clint Black's multifaceted talents as a singer, songwriter, player, actor, and label head have left a lasting impact on the country music scene. Raised in a humble family in Houston, Texas, Black's musical journey began with a harmonica gift at the age of 13. His breakthrough album in 1990 earned him multiple awards and accolades, setting the stage for a successful career that included numerous chart-topping hits and millions of records sold.

Despite industry pressures, Black remained true to his singer-songwriter roots, writing or co-writing his platinum-selling albums throughout the 1990s. His decision to start his own record company, Equity Music Group, in 2003 reflected his commitment to creating a fairer relationship between artists and labels. In 2025, Black was honored with the BMI Icon Award for his enduring influence on music makers across generations.

To learn more about Clint Black and the exhibition, visit the museum's website for advance reservations and ticket availability. Additionally, fans can join Black for an intimate evening in conversation about his memoir, "Killin' Time: My Life and Music," on May 23 at the Ford Theater. Tickets for the event, which include an autographed book, are available for purchase on the museum's website.
