Ontario High School Students to Face Financial Literacy Test for Graduation: Minister Emphasizes Importance of Money Management Skills

Ontario high school students will soon be required to pass a financial literacy test to graduate. Education Minister Paul Calandra emphasizes the importance of practical skills like money management and budgeting. The updated curriculum includes financial literacy in the Grade 10 career studies curriculum, with a mandatory test developed by TVO. Students must achieve a minimum score of 70% to pass the test. If students do not pass on their second attempt, they may receive additional instruction and support before trying again. The implementation of the financial literacy test was delayed to provide teachers with more time for preparation.
