Speeding Ticket Song: Lainey Wilson's Unconventional Punishment Story

Lainey Wilson recently shared a fascinating story during an appearance on the Life With John Mayer show on SiriusXM radio. She recounted an incident from her teenage years when she received a speeding ticket for going 75 mph in a 45 mph zone. Surprisingly, the judge who handled her case was her next-door neighbor in her small hometown of Baskin, La. Despite the close connection, Wilson's punishment was unique. The judge instructed her to write a song about speeding as part of her penalty.
During the interview, Wilson humorously sang a snippet of the song she composed for her unconventional punishment. Although she delivered the lyrics with a touch of humor, her talent as a songwriter and vocalist shone through. However, Wilson clarified that the song she created for the speeding incident would not be released as a single or included on any of her albums.
