Washington City Updates: Styx the Police Dog's Recovery, Alcohol Retailer Compliance Check Results, and Community News

Washington's police dog, Styx, had a mishap when he swallowed his beloved tennis ball, leading to a necessary surgical procedure. Fortunately, Styx has recovered well and will be taking a brief break from his duties to recuperate. The incident occurred after Styx and his handler, Joe Dubois, attended an event at the Connect Center in Washington. The organizers of the event generously donated towards Styx's care following the tennis ball incident.
Police Chief Jeff Stevens informed the Washington City Council about the compliance check results for alcohol retailers in the city. Nine establishments were found to have sold alcohol to a minor, including Bernardi's Restaurant, CVS, Blue Margaritas, The Blue Ox, Brickhouse BBQ, WA Conoco, Casey's General Store, Walmart Supercenter, and Christy's Place. On the other hand, 18 alcohol retailers passed the compliance check, such as Aldi, Parish's Pub, Beck's Oil, Plaza Lanes, Circle K, Tangled Roots, and others.
