Baseball and Pokémon Collide: Custom Gloves from 44 Pro Bring Personal Touch to the Field

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Will Klein and Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski have taken their love for Pokémon cards to the baseball field with custom gloves from 44 Pro. The gloves feature a special top loader that allows players to display their favorite trading cards, adding a personal touch to their gear. Klein's glove showcases a 2001 Neo Discovery Tyranitar card, while Misiorowski's glove features a hologram Gengar card that matches the glove's purple and red color scheme.

Brent Habert, the founder of 44 Pro, wanted to merge the worlds of baseball and collectibles with these unique gloves. The idea was to allow players to express their individual style and interests beyond just playing baseball. The combination of baseball and Pokémon trading cards has created a new way for players to showcase what inspires and motivates them.

Although Klein and Misiorowski have been able to use their 44 Pro gloves during practice, they have not yet taken them onto the field for an MLB game. This is due to concerns about MLB rules, specifically rule 3.07 (b), which prohibits pitchers from attaching foreign material of a different color to their gloves. Despite this, Habert remains optimistic that one of his gloves with a card in it will make an appearance in an MLB game soon.

Habert is excited about the possibility of seeing Klein or Misiorowski take the field with their custom gloves, as it would be a significant moment for both the players and the company. The unique combination of baseball and Pokémon cards has created a new way for players to showcase their personalities and interests on the field, bridging the gap between two distinct cultures.
