New Apple TV Comedy Series Starring Elizabeth Banks: A Look at the Upcoming Project

Apple TV has given the green light to a new comedy series created by Liz Heldens and Matt Ward, with Elizabeth Banks set to star and executive produce. The show, previously known as We're All Gonna Die, is a half-hour project from 20th Television, where Heldens is under an overall deal. The series is set to start production in Los Angeles this year and will mark Banks' return to the half-hour comedy genre.
The untitled Apple comedy follows Heidi (played by Banks), a woman navigating life after a messy divorce as she tries to create a new chapter for herself and her children. Things take an unexpected turn when she gets involved in organizing sex dates for her father's retirement community, leading to an unlikely partnership with his girlfriend's son.
Heldens and Ward will serve as executive producers and showrunners, with Banks executive producing alongside Max Handelman and Krissy Wall through her Brownstone Productions banner. Jonathan Krisel will direct the pilot and serve as an executive producer, while Quinn Haberman and Jason Winer will also be executive producers on the project.
Banks is currently starring in and executive producing the Peacock series The Miniature Wife, and Heldens has previously worked on shows like Mercy, Deception, and Camp. Ward has experience in half-hour comedies with credits on My Name Is Earl, Suburgatory, Best Medicine, The Big Leap, and Madam Secretary.
The upcoming comedy series promises to bring humor and heart to Apple TV audiences, with a talented team of creators and actors behind the project. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new show!
