Teenagers Arrested in Violent Pokémon Card Robbery: Safety Tips for Online Transactions

Three teenagers have been arrested by the Vancouver Police Department in connection with a violent robbery involving high-value Pokémon cards. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when a man was bear-sprayed while trying to sell two Pokémon cards worth $7,000 each on Facebook Marketplace. The suspects fled with the cards but were apprehended by VPD officers in Burnaby. Two 15-year-old boys and one 16-year-old boy are facing potential criminal charges in relation to the robbery. One of the stolen Pokémon cards was recovered and returned to the victim.

Constable Darren Wong emphasized the importance of safety when buying, selling, or trading items with strangers. He recommended using the Safe Exchange location outside the VPD headquarters on Cambie Street to ensure a secure transaction. The incident serves as a reminder to exercise caution and take necessary precautions when engaging in online transactions to avoid potential risks and harm.
