IKEA Culver City: A New Urban Concept Store in the Heart of California

IKEA is set to open a new store in Culver City, California, on May 2, located in the Helms Design District. This urban-concept store, spanning 38,050 square feet, aims to cater to metropolitan living and provide easy accessibility to customers. Unlike the traditional large warehouses, this store is designed to bring the IKEA experience closer to urban residents, offering a unique shopping experience.
The Culver City store will be the 11th IKEA location in California and the 10th in Southern California. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with convenient access near the 405 and 10 freeways. The store offers shared parking within the Helms Design District and free parking across the street on the corner of Venice Boulevard and Helms Avenue, making it easily accessible to customers.
Customers visiting the IKEA Culver City store can enjoy a planning-led experience, including free one-on-one consultations for kitchens and bedrooms, as well as solutions tailored to LA lifestyles. The store offers a variety of services such as Click & Collect, Click & Deliver options, free in-store pickup, home delivery and assembly services, and planning and installation support to enhance the shopping experience.
While the Culver City location will not have a full-service IKEA Restaurant, guests can visit "Swedish Bites," an IKEA cafe offering a selection of snacks, sandwiches, and beverages. The store will also offer popular IKEA Swedish Food Market favorites like cinnamon buns and frozen meatballs for purchase, providing customers with a taste of Swedish cuisine.
IKEA is expanding its presence in the U.S. with new locations planned for 2026 in various cities, including Huntsville, AL; University Park and Rockwall, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Chantilly/Dulles, VA; and Houston–Webster, TX. The company remains focused on growth and making IKEA more affordable, accessible, and sustainable for customers.
To celebrate the opening of the Culver City store, IKEA will host a Soft Opening and ribbon cutting on April 29, with the first 100 visitors in line receiving a $100 IKEA Gift Card. The grand opening event on May 2 will feature live music, free coffee, food samples, giveaways, children's activities, and more. Shoppers are encouraged to join the IKEA Family Rewards program to stay informed about grand opening giveaways and special offers, making their shopping experience even more rewarding.
