Buffalo Bills Draft Punter Tommy Doman to Bolster Special Teams

The Buffalo Bills made a move to strengthen their special teams by selecting Florida punter Tommy Doman in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Doman, known for his impressive hang time, led the FBS in this category last season with an average punt duration of 4.5 seconds. He also showcased his accuracy by pinning 17 of his 50 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Doman earned a spot on Pro Football Focus's All-SEC Team during his time with the Gators, following stints as the punter for the Michigan Wolverines in 2023 and 2024. His versatility extends beyond punting, as he has experience as a holder, kickoff specialist, and placekicker.
With only one punter, Mitch Wisnowsky, currently on the roster, the addition of Doman provides competition and depth at the position for the Bills. Wisnowsky, who was one of three punters used by Buffalo last season, will face off against Doman for a spot on the roster during the upcoming summer training camp. The Bills' decision to draft Doman reflects their commitment to improving their special teams unit and creating a competitive environment for their players.
